My name is Marijke and I tell stories with my images—moments both big and small—through my eyes and with my camera. Capturing portraits, weddings, engagements and wanderlust is my calling.
I speak English, German and Spanish.

It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like, it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.
— Paul Caponigro
Born in Cologne, I am trilingual, speaking English, German and Spanish. I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication in the Netherlands in 2012, lived in Berlin for eight years, and moved to beautiful Madrid in June 2018. I love to travel, running barefoot in the sand, the sound of the sea, palm trees, drinking coffee with milk and sugar and letting my nose be tickled by the last rays of sunshine.
The language of my images is fresh, candid but elegant—with an eye for beautiful details. Always playing with light, hunting shadows and composition, I seek to achieve a timeless and soulful visual expression.
For me, being a photographer is not just about taking pictures, but rather capturing the essence and individual beauty of the people in front of my lens. I truly care about the people I photograph and I treat them the way I would want to be treated.
I truly believe that building a warm connection with the people in front of my camera and putting them at ease is the key to taking natural pictures. Being a portrait photographer demands outstanding empathy and artistic perfectionism, both of which I prioritise.
Photography is about telling a story—let me tell you yours.
I love to travel and meet new people and places. My passport has no expiration date. Travel fees will be included in your personalized quote.
Just let me know all the details of your wedding. You don't have to do any math here!
